Vaccination is the most important thing you can do to protect your community against serious illnesses. When enough people get vaccinated, it's harder for a disease to spread to those who can't have vaccines.

We know many people are interested in the COVID-19 vaccination and want to assure you that we are working through a priority list set by the Department of Health.  Please do not contact your GP about getting the vaccine.  We will contact patients in order of priority.

Practice History

The Practice was founded in the 1920's by Dr. Eddie Boyd who is still remembered by some of the current patients. He was joined by Dr. Clifford McKee in 1947.

Many tales are still recounted about the surgeries continuing well beyond midnight with Dr. Boyd, who owned the nearby pharmacy, having to go around the corner to prepare a special medicine.

Dr. Clifford married Dr. Nan Martin in 1954 and, after a career as a chest physician at Forster Green and Whiteabbey hospital, she joined the practice.

The practice was originally based at 9 Madrid St. before the whole street was razed to the ground as a result of area rehousing.

We moved to purpose built premises at 50 Castlereagh St. in 1986 when Dr. Henry McKee joined the practice. It has grown from strength to strength ever since.

The merger between Castle Medical Practice and The Mount Practice took place on 1st April 2019. The merged practice is now known as The Mount Group Practice.
